Digital Science and French for Junior Cycle
JCQuest.ie is a new online resource for Junior Cert Science and French, designed to work flawlessly cross-platform and device. Launched in January 2020, updates have continued through lock-down and the portal now hosts a library of question sets that cover the entire Junior Cert syllabi in both subjects. Currently, due to the ongoing pandemic, full access for schools and students is available for free until at least July 2021.
The JCQuest assessment for learning approach with well-designed feedback has been proven to create a strong learning experience and improve results. Question sets are ideal for reinforcing knowledge following classroom teaching, helping the teacher evaluate how well students have understood a topic, and as a reflection or revision tool to prepare for school exams and the junior cycle examination.
Students can begin to use JCQuest immediately as Open Users. However, when a school registers and sets up classrooms in JCQuest , teachers will be able to track their students’ progress to see if they have completed lessons, homework tasks and monitor performance.
This month’s JCQuest newsletter outlines in more detail the French and Science materials available onsite, provides a guide to getting classrooms set up and information on a new European Commission Erasmus+ study.
