#techweek2020 – tech & talent unite
TECH WEEK_2020 runs from March 28th to April 3rd. TECH WEEK is Ireland’s nationwide annual festival of technology aimed at students, parents and the general public and designed to offer experiential engagement to primary and secondary students which will allow them to develop their interest in technology, advance creativity and innovation while also letting them have a lot of fun in the process! Tech Week is made up of a range of classroom and community activities happening in libraries, schools, community centres and many other locations. Activities provide hands-on opportunities to learn about how computing and related technology are shaping every area of life.
Objective #1 is to inspire students to engage actively with STEM subjects, and equip them with the knowledge and experience necessary to make informed choices about their future subject and career choices.
Objective #2 is to educate all citizens – of every age group and background – about the challenges and rewards of our fast-changing technological society.
It is expected that more than 100,000 students will take part in a range of activities across the country during TECH WEEK and to find out what’s happening in your area watch the Events page, which is growing daily as more and more events are registered. In addition the National Scratch Final takes place during TECH WEEK.
