Tech Week 2018 – Get Connected!

Ireland’s national festival of technology is just around the corner, Tech Week 2018 runs from April 22nd – 28th. Now in it’s fifth year, Tech Week is made up of a range of classroom and community activities taking place across Ireland – in libraries, schools, community centres, and many other locations. These activities give students a chance to develop their interest in technology subjects, examine potential career prospects, learn new skills and be creative.

Organised by the ICS Foundation and supported by Science Foundation Ireland and Amazon Web Services, as many as 100,000 students will take part in a range of activities and the finals of several national events being held, including the National Bebras Final in NUI Maynooth on April 21st, where students from 3rd class to 6th year will compete and solve interactive tasks using computational thinking, whilst The National Scratch Final in University Limerick on April 25th, will showcase over 30 of the best coding projects selected across seven age categories from Infant classes right up to 6th Year at secondary. Other highlights include, Digital Art Week, Technovation Pitch and the Tech Week Quiz.
