Online Homework activities to improve assessment and student engagement

Our school has used a number of online resources over the past few years in order to make homework more streamlined, accessible and interesting for students. Numeracy & Transport Ireland Journey App

There is a fantastic new application from Transport Ireland called Journey Planner. There are free iPhone, Android and web based applications. I am using the web based application to teach the pupils about transport and travel. The curricular topics covered are Numeracy, Literacy, Geography, Science and SPHE. For numeracy we discussed timetables, calendars, distances travelled and cost of the journey (this part of the web page is not yet active).…
