Get Into CodeWeek 2020

EU Code Week 2020 is already in full flow, running from October 10th – 25th (Code Fortnight really!) and in the light of the current global health crisis, organisers are bringing more coding activities online and launching new, Code Week logofun and engaging activities that you can join remotely at home or in school. To make it easier to take part in activities remotely a  live calendar of featured online activities is now available so teachers and students can plan in advance for when they need access. One thing that hasn’t changed however, is that Code Week is open to all, no previous coding knowledge is required, just visit codeweek.eu and search the calendar for suitable events to join…

What is an online activity ?
Online activities can be any activity you would typically add or register on the Code Week website – the only difference being it will take place online. The idea is to make it easy for people to participate in coding sessions and workshops entirely online.

Featured open activities
If you want, you can make your online activities available to everyone. People from around the world will be able to take part open online activities. A selection of the most exciting online activities, open to everyone will be featured on the live events calendar.

What this means for participants
Every day of Code Week, you will be able to browse the calendar and take part in the activities that interest you most. The topics of these featured events vary from workshops on robotics, e-learning courses, webinars to coding tutorials and much more. So happy coding!

About Code Week

Setup in 2013, EU Code Week is a grass-roots movement supported by the European Commission, that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. The idea is to make programming more visible, to show young, adults and elderly how you bring ideas to life with code, to demystify these skills and bring motivated people together to learn.

Schools at any levels and teachers of all subjects are especially invited to participate in EU Code Week, to give the opportunity to their students to explore digital creativity and coding. Learn more about the initiative and how to organise your activity via the webpage dedicated to teachers: CodeWeek.eu/Schools
