Organise & Collaborate with OneNote Class Notebook
OneNote Class Notebook is an add-in for OneNote that helps you to streamline the use of OneNote between you, the teacher, and your class of numerous students. Teachers spent too long in the past building notebooks with varying settings to allow OneNote to be the absolute one stop shop for class delivery, content management and collaboration.
This app will create a class notebook, which includes three types of sub-notebooks:
- Student Notebooks — private notebooks that are shared between each teacher and their individual students. Teachers can access these notebooks at any time, but students cannot see other students’ notebooks.
- Content Library — a notebook for teachers to share course materials with students. Teachers can add and edit its materials, but for students, the notebook is read-only.
- Collaboration Space — a notebook for all students and the teacher in the class to share, organize, and collaborate.
Just some of the benefits of OneNote Class Notebook
- Creating interesting lessons
Creating interesting lessons couldn’t be easier with OneNote Class Notebook. Starting from existing lesson plans, teachers can add web content, videos, and audio recordings—for customised lessons that get their students’ attention.
- Handouts 2.0
OneNote Class Notebook makes class handouts a breeze, allowing the teacher to distribute a page to any student anywhere anytime. Distributing handouts digitally saves time and money on photocopying and can allow these resources to be used to better effect to further enhance teaching and learning in any school.
Students can highlight, annotate, sketch, take notes and hand in their homework—all in the same notebook. The teacher can see individual student progress at every stage of learning.
- Flip the classroom
With OneNote Class NoteBook flipping the classroom has never been easier, in this example the students will interact with the content of the lesson and record their own voice to demonstrate their learning of Spanish during the lesson. The teacher can give direction to the students after the lesson has ended and work with the students the following day. Being able to see individual student work and provide feedback in real-time is such a powerful tool for any educator. Having a record of all student work for years to come allows students and teachers to improve future performance based on past practice.
OneNote Class Notebook allows the student to self-assess their work and signal to the educator their level of understanding at each stage of the learning process.
The ease at which Class Notebook allows this to happen is immensely powerful in the classroom.
Students take ownership of their own learning and develop the ability to self-assess
This process provides the educator with invaluable information to inform future lessons to best provide for the learning of the entire class based on real time information.
